This is an easy and delicious basic chocolate icing adapted from Hershey’s Perfectly Chocolate Frosting recipe
- 1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, melted
- 1 1/3 cup Hershey’s cocoa powder, sifted
- 6 cups powdered sugar , sifted
- 2/3 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
In a mixing bowl or standing mixer, beat together melted butter and Hershey’s cocoa powder. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk. Beat to spreading consistency. Add small amount additional milk, if needed. Add in vanilla. Mix until light and fluffy.
Yields about 4 cups of frosting.
